WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. From Monday, Feb. 20 through Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, the Clark Art Institute hosts Kids' Week at the Clark. 

 

The week offers children and families fun activities and opportunities to see great art. Every day of Kids' Week, visitors can pick up a set of complimentary colored pencils at the Admissions desk, along with one of the always-available drawing pads.

 

While visiting, museumgoers are encouraged to stop by the Clark's new postcard station on the lower level of the Museum Building. Create a postcard to send to a friend, drop it in the Clark's post box, and the Clark will stamp and mail it. 

 

Then, take advantage of the Clark's Project Snowshoe program and borrow snowshoes to explore the campus in winter. Snowshoes are available in adult and children's sizes on a first-come, first-served basis. On Monday, Feb. 20, visitors can also pick up a Presidents' Day-themed self-guide.

 

On view at the Clark during Kids' Week is the first exhibition ever presented of eighteenth-century French drawings from the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF). Organized in partnership with the BnF, "Promenades on Paper: Eighteenth-Century Drawings from the Bibliothèque nationale de France" features eighty-four studies, architectural plans, albums, sketchbooks, prints, and optical devices expands understanding of drawing as a tool of documentation and creation in the age of Enlightenment, spanning the domains of natural history, current events, theater design, landscape, and portraiture. 

 

Additionally on view is a year-long installation in public spaces around the Clark, Elizabeth Atterbury: Oracle Bones, which features work in a variety of media.
