Rachiele Homers for MCLA in Win Over Colby-Sawyer

DAVNEPORT, Fla. -- Taconic graduate Austin Rachiele went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and four RBIs Monday to lead the MCLA baseball team to a 13-7 win over Colby-Sawyer.
 
Nate Morse went 5-1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs, to lead seven Trailblazers pitchers.
 
MCLA (5-2) plays Maine-Presque Isle on Wednesady.
 
Softball
NAPLES, Fla. -- Lidia Flores went 3-for-4 with a double and six RBIs to lead MCLA to a 12-4 win over Alfred State.
 
Flores also earned the win in the circle, going the distance with three strikeouts.
 
MCLA (1-5) also dropped a 10-8 decision to Wilmington, Ohio, on Monday. it continues its spring trip against St. Joseph's of Brooklyn on Wednesday.
 
Men's Lacrosse
SALEM, Mass. -- Boden Dock scored four goals and Nathan Haley had a hat trick as MCLA beat Salem State, 9-4.
 
John Hankel stopped 16 shots to earn the win for the Trailblazers (3-2), who go to Cazenovia on Saturday.

McCann Recognizes Superintendent Award Recipient

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Superintendent's Award has been presented to Landon LeClair, a senior in McCann Technical School's advanced manufacturing course. 
 
The presentation was made last Thursday by Superintendent Jame Brosnan after Principal Justin Kratz read from teachers' letters extolling LeClair's school work, leadership and dedication. 
 
"He's become somewhat legendary at the Fall State Leadership Conference for trying to be a leader at his dinner table, getting an entire plate of cookies for him and all his friends," read Kratz to chuckles from the School Committee. "Landon was always a dedicated student and a quiet leader who cared about mastering the content."
 
LeClair was also recognized for his participation on the school's golf team and for mentoring younger teammates. 
 
"Landon jumped in tutoring the student so thoroughly that the freshman was able to demonstrate proficiency on an assessment despite the missed class time for golf matches," read Kratz.
 
The principal noted that the school also received feedback from LeClair's co-op employer, who rated him with all fours.
 
"This week, we sent Landon to our other machine shop to help load and run parts in the CNC mill," his employer wrote to the school. LeClair was so competent the supervisor advised the central shop might not get him back.
