Hinsdale Man Pleads Guilty to Motor Vehicular Homicide

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — On Thursday, March 30 in Great Barrington District Court, Stephen Medina, age 50 of Hinsdale, pleaded guilty to motor vehicular homicide by negligent operation. 
 
The accident occurred on Route 8 in Sandisfield on Dec. 12, 2021. Police responded to the scene a little after 3:00pm
 
The Commonwealth sought 18 months in the House of Corrections, one year direct with the balance suspended for three years, the maximum fine of $3000 and a 15-year loss of license with the condition of refraining from operating a motor vehicle until properly licensed. 
 
Medina's lawyers requested 18 months' probation.
 
Judge Vrabel sentenced Medina to 18 months' probation, the maximum fine of $3000 and loss of license for 15 years with the condition of refraining from operating a motor vehicle until properly licensed.
 
The Massachusetts State Police Collision Accident Reconstruction Section of the MA State police investigated the case. Assistant District Attorney, Talmadge Reeves represented the Commonwealth.

Haddad Subaru, will be providing a donation of their own as well as being onsite to volunteer, and raise money through some fun cornhole challenges!
