North Adams Seeking Christmas Tree Donation

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The city is seeking the donation of two large Christmas trees ranging from 25 feet to 30 feet in height.
 
The trees will be placed down town during the festive season.
 
Trees should come from the Northern Berkshire region and donations will be accepted through the first week of November.
 
Residents or business interested in contributing are encouraged to contact the Wire and Alarm Division at (413)-662-3155. If calling outside of business hours, leave a message.

SteepleCats Earn Road Win

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Nelphie Lopez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday as the North Adams SteepleCats beat the Ocean State Waves, 6-2, in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
 
Nolan Currier went 4 and two-thirds innings on the mound in a starting role for North Adams. He struck out six and allowed two earned runs.
 
Liam Riordan earned the win in relief with one inning of scoreless work.
 
Richie Kerstetter got a two-inning save, striking out five and walking none.
 
North Adams (8-28) travels to White River Junction, Vt., on Saturday to face the Upper Valley Nighthawks.
