Norman Rockwell Museum Summer 2025 Exhibitions and Programs

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass.— The Norman Rockwell Museum has announced its exhibitions and programs for the Summer of 2025.

Exhibitions:

• Anita Kunz: Original Sisters, Portraits of Tenacity and Courage (On view through May 26, 2025): This exhibition features 285 portraits from Anita Kunz’s Original Sisters Project, highlighting women who have contributed to society. Three portraits were specifically commissioned to depict notable Berkshire figures.
• All for Laughs: The Artists of the Famous Cartoonist Course (On view through June 15, 2025): This exhibition explores the humor of cartoonists from the mid-century Famous Cartoonist Course, including Al Capp, Barney Tobey, Rube Goldberg, and Willard Mullin. The display examines the educational and artistic impact of this correspondence course. The exhibition is sponsored by Sordoni Foundation, Inc.
• Illustrators of Light: Rockwell, Wyeth, and Parrish from the Edison Mazda Collection (On view through Spring 2026): This collection of original paintings created for Edison Mazda Lamps advertisements in the 1920s by Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish, and N.C. Wyeth will be publicly displayed for the first time.
• I Spy: Walter Wick’s Hidden Wonders (June 7 through October 26, 2025): This exhibition showcases the photographic illustrations and sets of Walter Wick, creator of the I Spy and Hidden Wonders book series. The display includes miniature worlds and optical illusions. The exhibition is organized by the New Britain Museum of American Art in partnership with Walter Wick and made possible by The Saunders Foundation and the Cheryl Chase and Stuart Bear Family Foundation.
• Hidden Worlds & Wonders: Outdoor Sculpture Show (July 12 through October 26, 2025): This juried exhibition will feature contemporary sculptures and installation art across the museum’s 36-acre campus, exploring themes of imagination, perception, and discovery.

Special Events:

• I Spy a Party! (Saturday, June 7, 2025; 4-7 pm): This event will celebrate the opening of the I Spy: The Hidden Wonders of Walter Wick exhibition with an exclusive preview, hands-on activities, live music, and local food and drinks. Admission is free for children under 10, with discounted tickets for ages 11-20.
• 7th Annual Art of Brewing Festival (Saturday, August 16, 2025; 1-4 pm): This festival will offer samples of craft brews, wine, cider, distilled drinks, and coffee from the region, along with food from local eateries and lawn games.

Programs & Tours:

• Norman Rockwell’s Studio Tours (May 1 – November 9, Daily except Wednesdays): Guided tours of Norman Rockwell’s studio, where he created many of his works, will be available for an additional $10 per person with museum admission. Reservations are encouraged.
• Norman Rockwell’s Life & Art Guided Tours (Daily except Wednesdays): 30-minute guided tours about Norman Rockwell’s life and art will be offered for an additional $10 per person with museum admission. Reservations are encouraged.
• Summer Saturdays for Families (July & August and select dates on June 14 & September 13, Saturdays, 11 am - 3 pm): The museum will offer family-friendly gallery tours and hands-on art activities related to current exhibitions. These programs are free with admission.
• TLI for Families: I SPY an Adventure! (Sunday, July 6, 10:30 am at Tanglewood / Linde Center for Music and Learning, Lenox/Stockbridge, MA): This program, in collaboration with Tanglewood Learning Institute, will feature storytelling through music and art inspired by Walter Wick, led by Baba Israel and Louis Henry Mitchell, with performances by other musicians.

Ongoing, Throughout the Summer:

• Terrace Café: Open daily except Wednesdays from May 23 to October 13, offering lunch, snacks, and beverages.
• Outdoor Fun: Seasonal outdoor games and creative activities will be available on the museum’s 36-acre campus, which also features sculptures and the Hidden World’s Sculpture Show. Museum admission is not required for the outdoor areas.

Monument Mountain Sophomore Wins Congressional App Challenge

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Monument Mountain Regional High School sophomore Jonah Sanabria is the winner of this year's Congressional App Challenge for the 1st Massachusetts District.

 

His Health Advocate application acts as just that in your pocket, Sanabria said, helping resolve one of the biggest problems in health care — miscommunication.

 

"Every day, patients of all ages go to the doctor feeling stressed, confused, scared and uncertain, meaning they often forget what they wanted to say, and they leave without fully understanding what was said or the plan ahead," he said. 

 

"It's not because doctors don't care; it's because the system is set up in a way that makes relaxed communications really hard. Appointments are abbreviated. Patients aren't always sure what they can ask physicians, and nerves often make them forgetful." 

 

The challenge was authorized by Congress in 2015 to promote interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Each representative may host an official computer science competition in their districts. More than 85,000 high school students in all 50 states have since participated, with more than 18,000 in 2025.

 

Jonah beat out nine other submissions in the 1st Mass. His app will be featured on the challenge page and displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. In addition, he will have the opportunity to visit Capitol Hill in the spring at a celebration called #HouseOfCode, where winning teams from across the country hear from lawmakers, interact with sponsors and partners at the STEM Expo, and demonstrate their apps.

 

Before a scheduled doctor's appointment, the program asks the user about their symptoms, health issues, and health goals and organizes and prioritizes questions to ask during the doctor visit.
