PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's Public Library, Pittsfield's CFCE, and Central Berkshire ParentChild+ announced that Curiosity Day is coming to the Library.

Families are invited on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 10:30 am to noon at the Berkshire Athenaeum. This year's event will focus on Laura Numeroff's children's book "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." Children and families can enjoy a story time, create their own snack at a pancake bar, receive a free book, and explore a variety of interactive STEAM station activities.

"Curiosity Day gives young children and their families the opportunity to explore, ask questions, and learn through hands-on STEAM activities inspired by a favorite children's book," said Sara Russell-School, youth services supervisor at the Berkshire Athenaeum. "This year, we're excited to bring 'If You Give a Pig a Pancake' to life with plenty of opportunities for families to discover and have fun together."

This family event is free. No registration is required but children under 10 must be accompanied at all times by an adult over 18 years of age. This program is sponsored in part by the Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's CFCE, Central Berkshire ParentChild+, and the Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.

For more information, email childrens@pittsfieldlibrary.org or call the Berkshire Athenaeum's Children's Library at (413) 499-9480, ext. 5.
