Adams Theater Presents Hudson Jazz Fest

ADAMS, Mass. — This October, The Adams Theater is collaborating with the Hudson Jazz Fest to present two events.
On Sunday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m., Dafnis Prieto Sí o Sí Quartet will take the stage. Afro-Cuban rhythms and modern jazz harmonies get together with the quartet led by Cuban-born composer, MacArthur Fellow, and Grammy-winning drummer Dafnis Prieto.
Joining Prieto will be Peter Apfelbaum on soprano sax, tenor sax, and flute; Martin Bejerano on piano; and Ricky Rodríguez on electric bass.
Saturday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m., São Paulo-born guitarist and composer Vinícius Gomes comes to Adams for an early evening solo performance at The Revival House. The performance is 75 minutes long and free.

Vinicius Gomes explores the dialogue between modern jazz and Brazilian music, with albums critically acclaimed by publications such as Downbeat magazine. Home was chosen as “Jazz album of the year” by Star Revue magazine.
Gomes performs extensively worldwide, in venues including Carnegie Hall (NY), Lincoln Center (NY), Kennedy Center (Washington), and festivals such as Newport Jazz, Winter Jazz Fest (NY), Jarasum Fest (Korea), Vienna Jazz (Austria), Offbeat (Switzerland), Sunfest (Canada), Riviera Maya Jazz (Mexico), Merida Jazz (Mexico), Savassi Jazz (Brazil), Ilhabela in Jazz (Brazil), Festival de Jazz de Buenos Aires (Argentina).
