McDermott Hat Trick Sends Mounties Past Drury

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Lily McDermott provided all the scoring Monday as the Mount Greylock girls soccer team defeated Drury, 3-0, to improve to 9-0 on the season and officially qualify for the state tournament.
 
Mila Marcisz assisted on the first two goals, including the game-winner in the 12th minute of play.
 
Mai O’Connor and Olivia Eaken split time in Mount Greylock’s goal, combining for six saves.
 
Mount Greylock coach Tom Ostheimer was impressed with the goalkeeping at both ends of the field, complimenting, “a strong Drury defense anchored by solid goaltending from senior netminder Brooke Bishop.”
 
The Mounties will work on improving their state tournament seed when they travel to Great Barrington to face Monument Mountain on Friday.
 
Drury (2-6-1) goes to Lenox on Friday.
