Helen F. Rafferty

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Helen F. Rafferty, 89, of 216 Pleasant St., Housatonic, died early Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at Fairview Manor.
Born in Housatonic on June 10, 1911, she was the daughter of Dennis and Mary Donovan Foley and was a 1928 graduate of the former Searles High School.
Mrs. Rafferty was employed at the former Great Barrington Welfare Office during the 1930s and also was manager of the Montgomery Ward Catalog Office in Great Barrington. She then was a secretary at the former Housatonic Grammar School for several years.
She was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society of Corpus Christi Church and worked at the annual church bazaar. She also was a member of Wyantenuck Country Club.
She leaves her husband, Clement J. Rafferty, whom she married on June 10, 1944, in Corpus Christi Church. Her sister, Marion Foley Kersey, died in 1980.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Helen Foley Rafferty will be on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 from HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Corpus Christi Church celebrated by the Rev. Anthony J. Jutt, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday afternoon from 3 to 5. Donations may be made to the Corpus Christi Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
