Marie A. Berger, 83,
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marie Antoinette "Dolly" Berger, 83, of 1807 Persimmon Circle Edgewater, Fla., and a former longtime resident of 71 Cady St., died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Born in North Adams on April 2, 1930, daughter of Theodore and Philomena Blasi Rotolo, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1947.
Mrs. Berger was employed as a unit secretary at North Adams Regional Hospital, until her retirement in 1993. She had first worked at the former J.J. Newberry and Sprague Electric companies. She then became a homemaker, devoting herself to raising her family until going to work at NARH.
She was a communicant of the former St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a member of the Daughters of Italy and the Johnson School Parent-Teacher Group.
She and her husband, Donald S. Berger, were married on May 20, 1950.
Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter, Kathleen Dimitropolis and her husband, Stephen, of Adams; four sons, Richard Berger and his wife, Judy, of Easthampton, David Berger and his wife, Susan, of Clarksburg, John Berger and his wife, Christine, of Pittsfield and Thomas Berger of Lenox; a sister, Elizabeth Detweiler of Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, Frederick Rotolo and his wife, Carol, of Deltona, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Matthew Berger, Corey Berger, Chelsea Berger, Haley Berger, Allyson Berger, Eric Dimitropolis, Andrew Colby and Rebecca Lymberis; four stepgreat-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Theodora Delisle, Constance Tanguay and Theresa Rotolo.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Berger will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
