DONALD MICHAEL DIX

Donald Michael Dix, 17, of 121 Richview Avenue, North Adams, MA, died Wednesday night, January 3, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident on State Road, North Adams. He was born in North Adams, MA on September 17, 1983, a son of Donald William Dix and Cindy Lee (Lescarbeau ) Dix. He was educated in North Adams schools including the McCann Technical High School in North Adams and also with Home Schooling. He also completed post graduate courses at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield, MA. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, progressing to one step below the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hiking, fishing, camping and hunting. He had completed the Hunter’s Safety Course. His aim, in career, was to be a Forest Warden, and he was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He was assigned to Bascom Lodge on Mount Greylock this past summer. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of North Adams. Survivors include his parents of North Adams and four sisters including Michaela Leah Dix and Holly Ann Dix at home, Hope Lynn Dix of Clarksburg, MA and Christina Marie Dix-Smith of North Adams, MA and his maternal grandmother Mrs. Elma Rondeau of LaGrange, Maine and his paternal grandmother Mrs. Theresa Dix of Clarksburg, MA and two nephews Nicholas Seney Smith and James Donald “JD” Smith , both of North Adams, MA, and his best friend Dan Cirullo of Clarksburg, MA and several aunts uncles and cousins. Funeral services for Donald Michael Dix will take place Monday, January 8, 2001 at 8 AM at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main Street, North Adamsfollowed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg, MA. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main Street North Adams, MA are Sunday, Jan 7,2001 from 3 PM to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are suggested for the JD Smith Education Fund through the funeral home.
