VIRGINIA OLIVE (MILLER) JONES

MRS. VIRGINIA OLIVE (MILLER) JONES, 80 formerly of Northway Eleven,Ballston Lake, New York died early Sunday morning January 7, 2001 at the Schuyler Ridge Nursing Home in Clifton Park, New York. She was born in Springfield, MA on November 9, 1920, a daughter of the late BertMiller and Anna (Martyn) Miller. The family moved to North Adams, MA and she attended schools in North Adams including the Drury High School. She also attended the Schenectady Community College in Schenectady, NY and completed the LPN Program at the Albany Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was last employed by the State of New York in its Taxation and Finance Dept. in Albany until her retirement in 1983. Before that, she was employed at the Albany Medical Center and at the Leonard Hospital in Troy, New York. She was a communicant of St, Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was a resident of Ballston Spa, New York for 23 years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church there. She was a member of AARP and did income taxes for members of AARP in Ballston Spa. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens in Malta, New York. She was the widow of Francis G. Jones whom she married on August 22, 1941. He died in October 1974. Survivors include 3 daughters- Ms. Patricia Ann Lewis of Ballston Spa, NY Mrs. Lawrence (Genevieve) Dame of Cohoes, NY Mrs. Douglas (Lisa) Stephans of Pittsford, NY 6 Grandchildren 8 GreatGrandchildren 1 Brother- Lt.Col.(Ret.USArmy) Charles A. Miller of Mt. Laurel, NJ Two sisters are deceased including Dolores Davis who died on Nov. 8,199l and Helen Miller who died on Jan. 21, 1991. Funeral services for Virginia Olive (Miller) Jones will take place Wednesday January 10, 2001 at 11:00 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 3-6 PM at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home on Rte. 9 in Clifton Park, NY. Donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals 521West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247 which is in charge of arrangements.
