Anthony Lachowicz

Anthony Lachowicz, 90, formerly of Unkamet Drive, a resident of Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in New Bedford on May 25, 1910, son of Joseph and Mary Lachowicz, he attended Adams schools and was a graduate of the former Adams High School. He had resided in Pittsfield for many years. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Lachowicz was employed by GE for 42 years, retiring in 1970 as a winder. He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of Berkshire Hills Country Club. His wife, the former Josephine Koscielniak, whom he married May 30, 1939, died Dec. 28, 1992. He leaves two daughters, Diane J. Coniglio of Pittsfield and Gail A. Caparella of Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Richard A. Lachowicz of Largo, Fla., and Anthony W. Lachowicz of South Kingston, R.I.; six grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. The funeral for Anthony Lachowicz, 90, formerly of Unkamet Drive, Pittsfield, who died Jan. 7, 2001, will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Francis Xavier Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 3 to 6.
