Elizabeth J. Haber, 59

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Elizabeth "Betsy" Jane (Hastedt) Haber, 59, of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away on May 24, 2018.

Born February 8, 1959, in Great Barrington, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Calomiris Hastedt. Betsy was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School, class of 1978. She was an active member of the Pittsfield community and a beloved member of her family.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Pixley of Pittsfield, Mass., and Rosemarie Quick of Kalamazoo, Mich.; her daughters, Misty Labshere of Pittsfield, Mass., and Eva Assante of Vermont; her aunts, June Hastedt and Margaret “Marge” Gillett; two grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Along with her parents, Albert and Helen, Betsy was also predeceased by her husband, Donald "John" Haber; and her sister, Mary Midling.

Funeral notice: A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Chuck Young. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Cemetery in Southfield.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 31, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charley’s Fund (which fights Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) through Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
