Matthew Loszynski, 86

ADAMS, Mass. — Matthew Peter "Spike" Loszynski, 86, of Millhouse Apartments, 75 Commercial St., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on Dec. 13, 1914, son of Casimer and Anna Malek Loszynski, he attended Adams schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with Company L of the 395th Infantry Regiment in the European theater. Mr. Loszynski was employed as a clerk at the former Adams Supermarket, retiring 20 years ago. Prior to that, he had been employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates, the former Brightwater Paper Co., and the former A&P supermarket in North Adams. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. He and his wife, the former Valida Duverney, celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary Aug. 29. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Frances Loszynski of Providence, R.I.; three sisters, Helen Zepka of Adams, Jennie Levesque of North Adams and Sister Mary Renilda, CSSF, of the Felician Sisters Motherhouse in Enfield, Conn., and a brother, Frank Loszynski of Johnsonville, N.Y., and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A sister, Eleanor Grabicki, died Oct. 21, 1994. He FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Loszynski will be Saturday at 9:15 from Auge-Paciorek-Simmons Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
