Marie Alice Skovera

Mrs. Marie Alice (Robertson) Skovera, 84, of 567 State Road, North Adams, Ma, died Saturday, January 20, 2001 at the Willowood Health Care Center, 25 Adams Road, Williamstown, MA, where she was admitted on December 6, 2000. Death followed a brief illness. She was born in North Adams, MA on April 26, 1916 a daughter of the late John Robertson and Georgina (Pinsonneault) Robertson. She was educated in North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in North Adams with the Class of 1934. For several years, she was employed with the Sprague Electric Company in North Adams and later with the former Whitney Drug Store in North Adams for eight years. Before her retirement in 1973, she was last employed for 21 years at West Variety Store on State Road, North Adams. She was a devoted homemaker for her family and a communicant of Our Lady of the Incarnation Church, now Our Lady of Mercy Shrine in North Adams. She was the widow of Sylvester Joseph Skovera who died on May 19, 1989. They were married on October 22, 1938 Mrs. Skovera is survived by one son John Michael Skovera of Williamstown, MA, and three granddaughters Christine Gagliano of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Michele Skovera-Ippolito of Hatfield, MA and Nicole Skovera of Williamstown, MA and five greatgrandchildren and one niece Rita Fountain of North Adams and one nephew Ronald Skovera of North Adams. She was predeceased by one sister Mrs. Ruth Haskins on May 11, 1997. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Skovera will take place Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 10: 15AM at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main Street, North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Shrine, Massachusetts Avenue, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot at Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the Flynn&Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main St. North Adams are Monday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations for Our Lady of Mercy Shrine through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA, 01247 which is in charge of arrangements.
