Edna Bahnson

Mrs. Edna Bahnson, 97 of Jerusalem Road, Tyringham, died Thursday night, January 18, 2001 at home following a long illness. Born June 22,1903 in North Bergan, New Jersey, she was the only child of William and Mary Haertier Ensminger. She graduated from local schools there. She married Conrad M. Bahnson, MD in 1925. They moved to Jersey City, NJ, where they raised a family. For over fifty years, she helped run the office of her husband’s medical practice. They lived in Canaan and Chatham, NY prior to moving to Lenox in 1989. Dr. Bahnson died in April of 1997. She is survived by her son; William F. Bahnson, Sr. of Greenfield, MA, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a daughter; Barbara Volcker, who died June 14, 1998 and a grandson William F. Bahnson, Jr., who died in September 1982. Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Bahnson will be Wednesday, January 24, 2001 at one o’clock p.m. at the Finnerty & Steven’s Funeral Home, Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Steven Bridges, pastor the Stockbridge Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Lenox. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in Mrs. Bahnson’s memory may be made to the Stockbridge Congregational Church, in care of the Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
