Daisy G. Dyka, 101

ADAMS, Mass. —
Mrs. Daisy G. (Czarnik) Dyka, 101, of Adams, died on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Adams on June 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Ciolkos) Czarnik. She attended schools in Adams.
Daisy was a loving mother and homemaker. She also worked for the former Elaine’s Dress Shop in Adams as well as the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Company in Adams.
She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a member of the former TMTM Club and the Children of Mary.
Her husband, Joseph A. Dyka, whom she married on September 11, 1947, died on September 17, 2011.
She is survived by her son, Paul Dyka and his companion Ellen Downes of Middletown, CT; her daughter Mary Ann Diedrich and her husband Rob of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her ‘fourth sister,’ Marion Czarnik.
She was predeceased by her brother Matthew Czarnik and three sisters, Gladys Zarvis, Mary Kleiner and Wanda Armstrong.
Daisy enjoyed walking and travelling with her husband. Her life was centered on her family, friends and the town of Adams. She was an avid needlepointer, stitching intricate canvases through the final week of her life. Daisy lived her life with the importance of faith, humor, gratitude and a welcoming heart.
The family would like to thank Mountain View Homecare, HospiceCare in the Berkshires, and Dr. Chi Cheung and Chris Romaniak of Adams Internists for their compassionate care.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 16th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.
There are no calling hours.
Burial will be at a later date to be announced in the spring.
Daisy’s family would like to invite relatives and friends to join them immediately following the funeral mass for a reception at the Adams Post 160 American Legion, 160 Forest Park Ave., Adams.
