Arthur F. Murphy, 75

FLORIDA, Mass. —  Arthur Francis Murphy, 75 of Drury, MA died Tuesday February 4, 2025 at his home.

He was born in North Adams, MA on March 12, 1949, a son of Arthur Walter Murphy and Helen Elizabeth (Leavens) Murphy. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1968, where he played the trumpet in the Drury Band that attended the World’s Fair.

Arthur was last employed by the Cataract Laser Center until his retirement. A talented musician, Art played in many bands over the years beginning with The Other Guys while in high school and finishing his career with Whiskey Creek.

Survivors include his wife Susan (Richards) Murphy whom he married on August 3, 1968 and three sisters including Marla (John) Dix of Clarksburg, MA; Carol (Joseph) Fachini of Stamford, VT and Carla (Anthony) Romero of Las Vegas, NV and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl Murphy.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Arthur Murphy will be Tuesday February 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Drury High School Band in care of the funeral home.
