Virginia Cariddi, 98

Virginia Marie (Wohler) Cariddi, 98, of North Adams, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at North Adams Commons, where she received exceptional care.

Born and raised in North Adams, Virginia Marie (Wohler) Cariddi was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born on January 21, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Felix) Wohler. Virginia attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. Over the years, she worked as a corporate secretary at Hunter Machine Company and Sprague Electric Company, and later as secretary to the president at General Photo in Williamstown.

Virginia was active in her community and served as a past president of the North Adams American Legion Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her first husband, Elmo Scott, who died in 1990, and by her second husband, Ralph Cariddi, the love of her life, who passed away in 1989.

Virginia enjoyed spending her winters in West Palm Beach Florida, where she enjoyed the company of friends and her favorite pastimes – shopping, playing cards, and bingo. She had a great eye for finding a sale and always loved a good bargain. Virginia never missed a good sale, even if she didn’t need the item, she would always find someone who could use it.

Most importantly, Virginia always went out of her way for her six granddaughters and five great-grandsons. She made sure they were cared for, knew they were deeply loved, and never went without anything they needed.

Survivors include sons, Clebe Scott (Joan) of Clarksburg, and Marc Scott of North Adams grandchildren Erin Scott, Christen Scott, Ann Scott, Ramsey Langenback (Tim), Casey Scott, Ashley Soules (Justin), great-grandchildren Sylas Soules, Styles Soules, Landon Langenback, and twins Nolan and Mason Langenback.
She was predeceased by her daughter Kimberly Ann (Scott, Roy) Bracey who died in 2024, daughter-in-law Diane Scott who died in 2014 and her sisters, Margaret LeClair, Jean Roy, and Barbara Perry.

Virginia's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at North Adams Commons for their compassionate care during her final days.

A calling hour will take place on Wednesday June 25, 2025 from 4:00 PM. To 5PM. at the Flynn Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA., followed by a memorial service to celebrate her life at 5:00 PM. Clebe and Mark I am very sorry about your mom’s passing. I just came across her obituary.. Aunt Virginia was a very special person and our whole family loved her very much. She was the last of that generation. She lived a very long life. My father (passed in 2023) and especially my mother (passed in 2018) loved her very much. I was also very sad in learning about Kim. Please know that Mike and David and I wish you and your extended families the best. Love Skip royfe@ Comcast’s.net.

Clebe, Mark and Family, My deepest sympathy to all of you. I feel very fortunate to have known Mimi for all these years. She was a unique woman with a zest for life & shopping!
The only love beyond shopping was her family. That was deep and unwavering. I'm sure she was reunited with her family on the other side and with any luck…a major shopping sale!
All my love and support in the days ahead.

She was a one of kind classic lady, but don't cross her in The Photec workplace. She had a fantastic life. Let the dancing begin in heaven.
