James Edward Grady, 81

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —

James Edward Grady, 81 of Williamstown died Saturday August 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in North Adams, MA on August 26, 1943 a son of James E. Grady and Margaret (Seymour) Grady. Jim attended schools in Williamstown and graduated from Williamstown High School with the class of 1961.
He was a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War obtaining the rank of Corporal. He was the co-owner of Grady & Jennings Concrete Company serving Berkshire County and Southern Vermont.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and friend to many. He enjoyed camping with family and was the life of the party at social gatherings. His smile and laugh was contagious. He enjoyed annual Patriots football games with his daughter, who he held very close to his heart and whom he was the most proud of.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Rae (Harding) Grady; daughter, Kate M. Grady and her husband Ryan Skrocki of North Adams; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Fredericka Brown of North Adams; sisters-in-law, Barbara Donovan and Debbie Crews; brothers-in-law, John Weyers and Richard King; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kim and John Slade, Donald and Debbie Harding, and Gary and Theresa Brusseau; and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and grand cats.
Jim was predeceased by sons Jonnie and Gary; sisters, Margaret Weyers and Maureen Perkins; and father and mother in-laws, Levi and Eva Harding, and Thomas and Hazel Mangano.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Friday August 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Saints Patrick & Raphael Church in Williamstown, MA. Burial with full military honors will follow in the family plot in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown, MA. Calling hours are Thursday August 28, 2025 from 4 PM to 8PM at the Flynn Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA.
