Eleanor V. Morris, 97

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —
Eleanor Virginia (Libardi) Morris, 97, of Clarksburg, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at her home on August 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts on October 31, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Scaia) Libardi. Eleanor attended local schools and was a proud graduate of Drury High School, Class of 1945.
In 1950 she married the love of her life, William J. Morris, Sr. with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on May 11, 2014. A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Eleanor lovingly raised her family before later working at Sprague Electric Company and General Electric in Pittsfield.
She had a playful spirit and enjoyed the thrill of casinos and a good game of bingo. An avid and frugal shopper, she had a knack for finding the best bargain while never compromising on style and class. In her younger years, she loved hosting holidays, opening her doors to everyone and making sure no one ever felt left out. Her home was a place of laughter, food, and togetherness, where friends and family gathered to create memories that will be cherished forever.
Eleanor had a passion for travel, with some of her favorite journeys including Korea, Hawaii, and Rome. A woman of deep faith, she made several pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, accompanied by her cousin, Monsignor Benjamin Franzinelli. She and her husband also cherished spending their winters in Las Vegas, Florida, and Oregon.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Nuvallie (David), with whom she made her home, two sons, Robert Morris (Karen) of Bedford, NH, and Peter Morris (Patti) of North Adams, and her daughter-in-law Gayle Morris of Grants Pass, OR, ten beloved grandchildren: Kristen (Erik) Haan, Sarah Sandoval, Lindsey (Bryan) Kuna, Emily Morris, Allyson Nuvallie, Benjamin Morris, Ethan Nuvallie, Hannah (Jason) Vincelette, Michael Morris, and Jay Morris, thirteen cherished great-grandchildren: Solana, Kingston, Antonio, Samuel, Liam, Leilani, Evelyn, Anthony, Andrew, Atlantis, Aliana, Ruth, and Rosiana, and many nieces and nephews whom she held dear.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, William J. Morris Jr., her sisters, Lucy Sanecki and Gloria Nowak, and her brothers, Richard, Mario, and Arthur Libardi.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. A calling hour AT THE CHURCH will be Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
