George Mials Garner, 89

George Mials Garner, 89 of Wells, Vermont died Thursday September 18, 2025 at his home.

He was born in North Adams on December 13, 1935 a son of the late George and Margaret Mae (Robson) Garner. George attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School in 1953.

He was decorated veteran of both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War proudly serving with United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1958 and with the United States Army from 1958 to 1974. George dedicated over twenty years of his life to the protection and security of his country.

After his military career George served as a Lieutenant in the Security Department at General Electric Company in Pittsfield with over twenty -two years of service.

George was an active of the American Legion Post #39 in Poultney, Vt. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, golfing and fishing.

His wife Barbara Maria (Brunzell) Garner whom he married in 2010, she died June 22, 2022. Survivors include his loving children Kevin Garner (Jodi) of North Adams, MA. Jill Holden (Michael) of Troutville, NC. Jake Garner (Kevin) of Wilmington, NC and Dickilyn Mackinnon of Pittsfield, MA., grandchildren Adam Garner, Jessica Garner, Travis Holden, Devon Holden and Brett Garner and seven great-grandchildren. George also leaves his two cherished sisters Patricia Picard and Cheryl Garner of Williamstown and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends.

Graveside services with full military honors will take place in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, Ma. on Friday September 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM. There are no calling hours at his request. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
