Jay W. Westcott, 68

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Jay Wesley Westcott, 68 of North Adams died on Friday October 10, 2025 at his home.

Jay was born in North Adams on January 24, 1957 a son of Walter Westcott & Rita (O’Rourke) Duprat.

Jay attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. He attended Greenfield Community College and graduated from Mildred Elley in Pittsfield, MA. Jay was a custodian for North Adams Public Schools for 20+ years as well as part time at West Package Store at the time of his death. He was also employed by Photech in Williamstown and W.R. Grace in Adams. Jay was a member of Stamford Golf Club and enjoyed participating in the men’s league. He enjoyed playing games with his family and doing crossword puzzles.

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Sprague) Westcott, his mother, Rita Duprat of Williamstown, daughter Jayda Westcott of Pittsfield and granddaughter Teagan Taylor, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL NOTICE: There will be no services for Jay Westcott upon his wishes. Donations may be made in his memory to No Paws Left Behind through Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes – 521 West Main ST. Jay was the kindest, soft spoken custodian to walk the halls of Drury. As a teacher who participated in a lot of after school events, Jay would use his magic key and get students back in their classrooms to make sure they got the homework they left behind. He will always be a wonderful man

I was so surprised to read this. I had a long ‘catch up’ conversation with Jay at West’s this summer. I worked at Brayton and we often chatted on a daily basis during those days. Sad indeed for this loss.

I was so sorry to hear about Jay's passing. I've been acquainted with him for many years at NAPS. I'd see him at Stamford Golf, as we were both frequented there, and he loved to give me a hard time when I saw him at Wests, and I gave it right back. I enjoyed< and will miss our banter.
