John Joseph King, 67

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — John Joseph King, 67 of Camden Wyoming, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, at the Bay Health Hospital in Dover, Delaware, with his wife by his side.
He was born in North Adams and grew up in Williamstown, a son of the late Marie Irene (Tatro) and Leon King, Sr.
He attended Williamstown Elementary Schools and graduated with Class of 1976, from Mt. Greylock High School.
He was a volunteer firefighter with the Williamstown Fire Department from 1976-1981. John was a 23-year Veteran with the United States Air Force, serving in Delaware, Japan and England. He was an Aerospace Maintenance Craftsman and a C-5 Crew Chief, he received numerous medals.
John enjoyed antiquing and traveling. His greatest joy was visiting with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen (Wetherell) King, his two daughters, Christie-Lee (Jason) Kennedy of Crest View Florida and Jennifer Lynne Burno of Maricopa, Arizona. Two grandchildren, Makayla King and Dante Burno.
His brother Leon (MaryAnn) King, sisters, Sharon Michalenko and Suzanne (Richard) Hescock. Sisters-in-laws, Kathy (John) Bradbury and Kelly (John) Sherman, also Erica Wetherell. Brother-in-law, Jody (Kim) Wetherell and his best friend and daddy’s girl, his boxer Maggie. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
John was predeceased by his parents, Marie Irene and Leon. Mother and father-n-law, Joan Field Wetherell and Eugene "Mike" Wetherell. Two brothers- in – law, Lawrence Michaelenko and Gene Wetherell.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life at the North Adams American Legion Post 125, American Legion Drive in North Adams on Friday, March 20 th , from 11:30-3:30.
