NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Kathleen Marie (Superneau) Ballou, 78 of Monroe, MA passed away on Friday May 8, 2026 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in North Adams, MA on September 30, 1947, a daughter of Kenneth D. Superneau and Dorothy (Harvey) Superneau Arabia. She attended local schools.

Kathleen was primarily a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved taking care of her plants and animals, making whoopie pies, and decorating for each holiday.

She was the widow of Wayne Edward Ballou who died on January 11, 2006. They were married on June 27, 1970. Survivors include her two sons, John D. Mach and his wife, Jennifer of North Adams, MA and Eric Ballou and his wife, Erin of Point Pleasant, NJ; four grandchildren, Erica Stillwaugh (Jordan), Tyler Mach, Casey and Brady Ballou and a great grandson, Micaiah Stillwaugh. She also leaves her brother, Richard Superneau of Clarksburg, MA; two sisters, Marlene Superneau of North Adams, MA and Diana Cooper of Newburyport, MA; her step brothers and sisters including Keith Daub, Joseph Arabia, Paul Arabia, Anthony Arabia, Perry Arabia, Anna Marie Arabia, Mary Ann King, Dorothea Haskins, Denise Blaisdell and Donna Arabia and nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Kathleen Ballou will be Saturday May 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday morning May 16th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
