Edward C. Pasternak, 88

ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Edward C. Pasternak, 88, of Adams, passed away on June 18, 2026 at home.

He was born in Adams on September 10, 1937, a son of the late Frank and Helen (Stefanik) Pasternak. He attended schools in Adams.

Edward served with Battery A, 2nd Howitzer Battalion, 92nd Artillery of the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany from 1960 until his honorable discharge on November 15, 1962.

He worked for C&W Construction Company in Adams and then the former General Electric Company in Pittsfield as a group leader in the shipping department and retired in 1999.

He was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church now the Parish of St. John Paul II of Adams.

He was a passionate and clever person who took pride in helping people with small engine repair and many other projects. He dedicated himself to his family, his home, which he built, and loved his grandchildren.

Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Sandra L. Kolodziej whom he married on May 21, 1966, two sons Robert E. Pasternak of Weymouth, MA, and Steven F. Pasternak and his wife Laura (Taylor) Pasternak, one granddaughter Ellen M. Pasternak and two grandsons Liam S. Pasternak and Kyle E. Pasternak of Statham GA, one sister, Virginia H. Pasternak of Adams. He was predeceased by his sister Adella Deschenes of Santa Ana, CA and his twin brother Edmond Pasternak of Adams. He also leaves one niece and nephew and many cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, June 25th from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 877 South St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
