Theodore S. Meczywor, 80

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mr. Theodore Stanley Meczywor, 80, of Adams, died on Friday, June 26, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Adams on February 2, 1946, a son of the late Stanley and Carol (Rys) Meczywor. He attended schools in Adams.

Mr. Meczywor was a veteran having served with the United States Air Force.

He worked for Castine Moving and Storage for many years until retiring. He had also worked for the former Mullen Moving and Storage.

He was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance, the Adams Turn Hall and the Mountain Club. He was an avid golfer playing often at the Stamford Valley Golf Course and taking golf trips with his son Mark to Myrtle Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Ocean City and Cape Cod.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sandra A. Utter, whom he married on May 15, 1965; two daughters, Brenda Hamilton and her husband Jamie of Adams and Sandy Gwozdz of Adams; two sons, Mark Meczywor and his wife Katherine of North Adams and Theodore S. Meczywor, II and his wife Kim of North Adams; eight grandchildren, James Patrick, Joseph, Joshua, Justin, Addisyn, Meghan, Theodore III and Shawn; six great grandchildren; his brother Michael Meczywor and his wife Lisa of Adams and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandson Corey Meczywor and by five brothers, David, Edward, Francis, Matthew and John Meczywor.

The family would like to send a heartfelt Thank You to Hospice for their wonderful and amazing care during this difficult time. Melissa, Vanessa, and Von made him smile and laugh during their visits.

Per Ted’s wishes, funeral services and burial will be private for the family.
