NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Marie Rose (Champagne) Norman, 80, of North Adams, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Born in North Adams on July 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Gloriana A.(Bachand) Champagne.

Marie attended local schools and worked throughout the Northern Berkshire area, including employment at several textile mills, Sprague Electric, and Dargie Nursing Home. She found great joy in spending time with her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

An accomplished cook, Marie was especially known for hosting her cherished Wednesday family dinners, where generations gathered around her table. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and fulfilled a lifelong dream by traveling to Graceland. Marie possessed a kind and forgiving spirit, always willing to help those in need and placing the care of her family above all else.

She leaves her loving children, Tina Marie Leonesio and her husband, John Jr., of North Adams, and Wilfred Joseph Norman and his wife, Jennifer, of North Adams. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Kristin H. Tatro (Jeffrey Hermanski), Peter J. Tatro (Mindy), Trista A. Farnam (David), Amanda K. Beniwal (Rakesh), Sarah M. Norman (Jeffrey LaFlamme), and Joseph Norman (Carli). Marie was the proud great-grandmother of Kaylee, Kadan, Jayden, Amieracle Tatro; Aibhlin Hickock; Ryker Farnam; Kiaan and Kailash Beniwal; and Ryker LaFlamme.

In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her sisters, Louise Worth and Alice Norman, and by her brothers-in-law, Walter Worth and Albert Norman.

Marie will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering love for her family, remarkable forgiveness, and the warmth she brought to everyone who gathered around her table. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on through the many lives she touched.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Flynn & Dagnoli–West Chapels, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, Massachusetts. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
