NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Alfred Roger Dickinson fondly known as Bud passed away on September 1, 2026. Bud was born on March 31,1939 in North Adams. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great -grandfather, his life has been a testament to life’s simple pleasures.

The son of Florence (Dubie) and Alfred Dickinson, Bud grew up with his siblings Ellen, Dave, Ed, Louis, and Francis. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. His work career began as a colorist at Arnold Print Works where his attention to detail and passion for his craft was his trademark. After the closing of the plant, his work transitioned to the Hoosac Water Quality District working in the lab until his retirement.

In 1958, Bud married the love of his life, Elizabeth Guisti, on June 9th. Their union has been blessed with 68 enduring years of love and companionship. He leaves behind his children Keith (Carol) and Robert. Bud’s legacy continues through his grandchildren Megan (Justin) Pinsonneault, Tara (Phil) Thompson, Michelle Dickinson and Brian Crandall and his great grand-children, twins Harper and Madelyn, Caleb, Caden, and Sophia, all who brought joy to his life.

Bud’s passions extended beyond family and work. He found enjoyment in bowling, hunting, gardening, and playing games like cribbage and bocce. In his earlier years he was an avid guitarist and loved to sing and dance.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Williamstown Commons and Hospice Care.

Bud’s life is a celebration of love, joy and family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him and his spirit continue to uplift those he left behind.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Bud Dickinson will be Wednesday September 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday September 23rd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made in his name to the North Adams Council on Aging, 116 Ashland St. North Adams, MA 01247.
