Peter Shaw “Possum” Montgomery, 76, of North Adams, died Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1950, in North Adams, MA, the son of the late Andrew and Vivian (Shaw) Montgomery.

Peter graduated from Drury High School and was employed by Sprague Electric for 20 years. He also worked part-time for the City of North Adams Cemetery Department.

Peter enjoyed going to the Green Mountain Race Track and was a devoted New England sports fan, especially cheering for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed fishing and walking.

Peter leaves his longtime friends, Chris Sahady and James Mohl, as well as many other friends who will remember him fondly.
