ADAMS, Mass. —  

Mrs. Marion Dorothy (Hathaway) Horton, 102, died on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Pittsfield, MA on August 27, 1924, daughter of the late Herbert Hathaway and Mary (Hurd) Provost. She attended schools in Pittsfield.

Marion worked for the former Joanne’s Bakery, Bowe Oil Company and Leann’s Jewelry. She was also employed for many years for the former General Electric Co., Pittsfield until retiring. Following her retirement, she drove school bus in Adams.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams. She had been a member of the Cheshire Stompers Square and Round Dancers for many years.

Marion enjoyed spending time sitting on her front porch, oftentimes visiting with beloved family, friends, and neighbors.

She and her husband, Clyde J. Horton, were married on November 20, 1948, for almost 74 years until his passing on May 24, 2022.

She is survived by her daughter Gisele Torchia and her husband Frank of Adams; two granddaughters, Vanessa Cunningham and her husband Travis of Adams and Susan Reeners and her husband Brandon of Millis; two great granddaughters Sophia Cunningham and Nora Reeners and by her brother Edward Provost.

She was predeceased by her brother Herbert “Buzzy” Hathaway.

The funeral will be held on Monday, September 21st at 11:00 A.M. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
