Kurt Vosburgh

Died : September 19, 2026

Kurt was a vivacious force of life with many interests throughout his life... Fishing, hunting, skiing, gardening and working outdoors, amazing hungry customers while cooking at the Capitol Restaurant in North Adams MA, among the many.

Kurt was a caring person with the welfare of his fellow humans at the top of his mind. He saw the opportunity to help others by collecting and donating food for others at Stamford Community Church, by starting the food pantry. He kept it quiet and didn't really prefer the public recognition, just getting the job done.

His son Dylan and partner Amanda were top of his mind and heart. His love for Dylan and teaching him skiing really gave him joy. Like any dad wants to see their child succeed, he was proud of Dylan's skills and knowledge.

He loved and cared for his mother and endeavored to help and make her life easier and happy on a constant basis.

He loved going camping and touring with his best buddy Mike Girard. They had a lot of great adventures and a better more generous friendship cannot be found. I know this is true.

His love of animals was huge and he was often the benefactor of an abandoned dog, bringing them home giving them food and showing them love. Often they became permanent family members.

When a beloved cat named Tabitha came to live in the house, his world lit up like a lighthouse beacon. He played fetch with her cat treats until she either was tired from chasing them or was full. She has been looking for him and yowling.

Kurt faced many health challenges and had his demons that he bravely battled. At the end of the day, he gave his all to try and make the world a better place. He was not perfect just as I am not perfect, but he was my brother.

Go in peace Kurt, and give a hug to Dad and the rest of the family. Be in Heaven with them and the good Lord. You deserve the rest in a much better place.  God Speed brother!

Survivors include his mother Ruth (Clairmont) Vosburgh, son Dylan Jacob Straczek, brother Keith Vosburgh and partner Amanda Alexander. He also leaves several aunts, cousins and his friends at the Stamford Community Church. He was predeceased by his father Lloyd E. Vosburgh.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday October 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stamford Community Church in Stamford, VT. Memorial donations are suggested for the Stamford Vermont Volunteer Fire Department through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. 01247.
