Beatrice S. Goodermote

Mrs. Beatrice Sylvia (Cross) Goodermote, 91, of 39 Inward Commons, East Longmeadow, Mass., a former longtime resident of 17 Francis Ave., Adams, died Tuesday evening at Chestnut Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Longmeadow. She was born in Adams on August 5, 1909, a daughter of the Late George and May (Bush) Cross, and attended Adams schools. She had lived in East Longmeadow since 1982. Mrs. Goodermote last worked as a housekeeper at the former Adams Nursing Homes in Adams and Williamstown, until retiring in 1974. Earlier. she had worked for 30 years at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams, until the mill ceased operations. While in Adams, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her husband, Waldo C. Goodermore. whom she married on October 6, 1928, died on January 14, 1979. She is survived by 2 sons - Waldo R. Goodermote of East Longmeadow, MA and Ralph N. Goodermote of Colorado Springs. Colorado. 1 Brother - Alfred W. Cross of Adams; and several. Nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grandnephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers. George and Harrison Cross. and b y a sister, Mrs. Rita Malloy. Funeral services will be held on Friday at IO:00 AM in the AUGE PACIOREK - SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Rev. Donald E. Gray, Pastor of the First Baptist Church. Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in the family Lot in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 9:OO AM until the service.
