Ann E. Crouser

Ann E. Crouser, 71, of 19 Cambridge Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in State College, Pa., on Dec. 30, 1929, daughter of James F. and Jennie Kelley Shigley, she graduated from State College High School in 1947 and from Pennsylvania State University in 1951. She had resided in Pittsfield since 1952. Mrs. Crouser was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was church librarian, an archivist and sang in the choir. She served on its Christian Education, Worship and Music committees, and was a member of the Esther Circle. She was also an active member of Church Women United, the Pittsfield College Club and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She and her husband, Claude T. Crouser, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 24. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Susan E. Landry of Sinking Spring, Pa.; a son, David T. Crouser of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Dorothy J. Farwell of Millville, N.J., and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pittsfield, by the Rev. Peter D. Boehringer, pastor. Calling hours will be Thursday at the church from 10 until the time of the service. Burial will be Saturday at 10 in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland, Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or World Hunger, both in care of the church. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Pittsfield, is in charge of arrangements.
