Robert L. Nolan, 69, of 152 Linden St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in New Haven, Conn., on Dec. 5, 1931, son of the late Claude and Edith Hamilton Nolan, he moved to Pittsfield as a young boy and attended local schools. He graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mr. Nolan was employed by General Electric Co. for 39 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1991. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. A baseball fan, he enjoyed the rivalries of the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed fishing and whale watching trips. He leaves two sisters, Shirley M. Hamilton and Beverly A. Edmonds, both of Pittsfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at noon. Burial will take place in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial donations to the Christian Center in care of the funeral home.
