Harriet R. Decker

Harriet R. Decker, 99, of 89 South St died at Berkshire Retirement Home on Sunday. She had been a resident there since 1992. Born in Canaan, NY November 25,19Ol the daughter of William D. and Louise Hatch Rushbrook, she was a Pittsfield High School graduate and attended Bliss Business College. Mrs. Decker was raised in Richmond and moved to Holyoke in 1934. While in Richmond, she had been employed as a home health aid and companion in Richmond and West Stockbridge. While in Richmond she was a active member of the Richmond Congregational Church. While in Holyoke she was a active member of the First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at the Holyoke Hospital and at the VA Medical Center in Northampton. She was married on August 12,1934 to Walter A. Decker. He died July 3, 1983. Mrs. Decker leaves two stepdaughters Mrs. Majorie Walker of S. Hadley and Mrs. Muriel Newell of Hendersonville, NC; a brother William Rushbrook of San Jose, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Tonini of East Holden, ME and Mrs. Dorothy Davidson of Carrollton, IL; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Today (Tuesday) at 2 PM at the Village Cemetery in West Stockbridge with Rev. Irene Jones pastor of the Richmond Congregational Church officiating. There will be no calling hours. The WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield is in charge of arrangements.
