Robert A. Bertelli

Robert A. Bertelli, 67, of 200 Prospect St. died Wednesday at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Lee on April 12, 1933, son of Aldo and Loretta Chaloux Bertelli, he attended Lee schools. Mr. Bertelli was employed by Lee Ford and Carlson's Auto Body for many years. In 1983, he opened his own body shop, Bertelli's Auto Body. He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and a past member of its vestry. He did volunteer work for the DARE program in Pittsfield. He enjoyed boating and camping on Lake Champlain, and horseback riding. He entered many rodeo events in the Berkshire area as a young man. He leaves his wife, the former Nancy D. Drumm, whom he married Aug. 7, 1954; two sons, Robert E. Bertelli of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Scott D. Bertelli of Lenox Dale; a foster son, Robert Wheeler of Shrewsbury; three daughters, Mary Jane Williams of Millbury, Lynn M. Bertelli of Lee and Kim Bertelli Supranowicz of Richmond; a sister, Gloria Williams of Lee; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cynthia Bertelli, who died in 1985. The funeral of Robert Bertelli will be Saturday morning at 10 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Eucharist Service at 10:30 at St. George's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Canon Noel A. Bailey, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Joslin Clinic for Research, the Pittsfield DARE Program or to St. George's Church, in care of the funeral home.
