Yolanda E. Tomasini, 82

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Yolanda Elizabeth Tomasini, 82, of 74 Lincoln St. died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2003, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Athol on Nov. 24, 1920, daughter of Carlo and Maria Superci Simonetti, her family moved to the Hoosac Tunnel section of the town of Florida when she as an infant and she attended schools there. She was a 1938 graduate of the Arms Academy of Shelburne Falls. At age 18, she moved to Monroe Bridge and in 1974 to North Adams. Mrs. Tomasini was employed at North Adams City Hall until her retirement in 1985. She also was employed in the Drury High School and former North Adams, now Conte, Middle School cafeteria, and by the former Deerfield Glassine Co. and for nine years by the U.S. Postal Service, both in Monroe Bridge. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She was a longtime volunteer with the children's reading program at the library in Monroe Bridge. Her husband, Charles D. Tomasini, whom she married Sept. 28, 1946, died Aug. 12, 1983. She leaves two sons, Paul Carl Tomasini and his wife, Helen Fox Tomasini, of Norton and David Charles Tomasini and his wife, Leslie McFadden Tomasini, of Ashburn, Va.; a brother, Henry F. Simonetti of North Adams; six grandchildren, Rebecca Tomasini, Eric Tomasini, Gina Tomasini, David M. Tomasini, Michael Silvestri and Matthew Silvestri, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was redeceased by a brother, Reno Simonetti, and a sister, Lena Mowe. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Tomasini will be Thursday, Feb. 13, at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with the Rev. Daniel O'Hear, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Feb. 12, from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for any charity through the funeral home.
