Barbara J. Randall, 68
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Barbara Jean Randall, 68, of 656 Reservoir Road died Feb. 26, 2003, at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken earlier at home.
Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Oct. 21, 1934, daughter of Arthur Parent and Irene Aubertine Parent Pratt, she moved to Wilmington, Vt., with her family in 1937 and attended schools there. She graduated from the St. Joseph's Academy Business School in Cohoes, N.Y., and, in 1979, from the postgraduate program in cosmetology and hairstyling at McCann Technical School.
Mrs. Randall was employed by the late Rudy Grande at Your Cutting and Curling Place in Williamstown until 1985, when she purchased the business from him. She continued to operate the business until her death. She was first employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. until leaving to raise her family during the 1950s.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
She leaves her husband, James Alfred Randall, whom she married May 7, 1955, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Wilmington; two daughters, Lynn Marie Pinsonneault of Pownal, Vt., and Claudia Marie LaPlante of North Adams; two sons, James Arthur Randall and Anthony Earl Randall of North Adams; two sisters, Anita May Passardi of Monroe Bridge and Jeannette Brown of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Parent, in December 1995.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 1, at 8:15 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 8.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the March of Dimes fund or the American Heart Association through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
