Hermine Bloniarz

Hermine Carolyn Bloniarz, 89, of 46 Deborah Ave. died Tuesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had been a resident since April 1998. Born in Adams on July 20, 1911, daughter of Michael and Carolina Starsiak Gritz, she graduated from St. Stanislaus Kostka School and from the former Adams High School in 1929. She also graduated from Bay Path Junior College. She assisted her husband, Frank A. Bloniarz, in the operation of the Bloniarz Funeral Home, both in Adams and later in Pittsfield. She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of Holy Family Church in Pittsfield. Her husband, whom she married April 14, 1941, in St. Stanislaus Church, died Feb. 10, 1981. She leaves a brother, Edwin D. Gritz of Long Beach, Calif. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, with the pastor, the Rev. John C. Chwalek, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A prayer service will be offered Saturday at 9:30 in the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to: HospiceCare in the Berkshires at 369 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, or through the McBride Funeral Home.
