John J. Perotti

John J. Perotti, 88, of 243 Bunce Road, Ashley Falls, died Thursday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born at home on Oct. 6, 1915, in North Canaan, Conn., son of Peter and Catherine Donatini Perotti, he grew up in North Canaan and attended schools there. He moved to Ashley Falls 14 years ago. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific as a technical sergeant with the 333rd Fighter Squadron. Mr. Perotti worked for Southern New England Telephone Co. for 38 years, first as a lineman in Torrington, Conn., before the war, then as a PBX installer and repairman at the time of his retirement in February 1978. He was a member of the Connecticut Telephone Pioneers. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in North Canaan and a life member of the Berkshire Council Knights of Columbus and a 4th-degree knight. He was a life member of the Couch-Pipe VFW post in North Canaan and of the Sheffield VFW post. He and his wife, the former Shirley Adotte, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary Oct. 12. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, John A. Perotti of Farmington, Conn.; a daughter, Kristin Perotti of Houlton, Maine, and two grandsons. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John. J. "Jack" Perotti, with military honors, will be held from NEWKIRK-PALMER FUNERAL HOME, 118 Main St., North Canaan, Monday at 9:15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church at 10. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Cemetery Road in North Canaan. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 8. Memorial donations may be sent to the Sheffield Fire Company, Sheffield, MA 01257. Survivors include two grandsons, Erik Perotti of Farmington, Conn., and David Perotti of Hartford, Conn.
