Priscilla I. Ranzoni

Priscilla I. Ranzoni, 87, formerly of 63 Mohawk Forest Blvd., died yesterday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown, where she had resided since 1998. Born in Great Barrington on March 16, 1916, the daughter of George and Alice Anson Polmatier, she was a 1933 graduate of the former Searles High School. She had resided in Chatham, N.Y., for 55 years before moving to North Adams in 1994. While in Chatham, Mrs. Ranzoni had been employed as a bookkeeper at Giel Equipment Co., retiring in 1974. Prior to that, Mrs. Ranzoni worked in the same capacity at the former B.H. Delson Department Store, at Chatham Furniture Co. and at Agway. She attended First Congregational Church in North Adams and enjoyed needlework, crocheting, crossword puzzles, flowers and gardening. Her husband, Joseph Ranzoni, whom she married June 20, 1934, died Jan. 15, 1989. She leaves two sons, Raymond P. Ranzoni of North Adams and Edwin J. Ranzoni of Bucksport, Maine; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Priscilla I. Ranzoni will be tomorrow, Nov. 25, at 11:30 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams. The Rev. Jill D. Graham, pastor of First Congregational Church in North Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Great Barrington. Calling hours will be today, Monday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sweet Brook Care Center Activities Fund through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. She leaves her grandchildren, Paul D. Ranzoni of Pittsfield; Rhonda R. Ezpelepta of Hollywood, Fla.; Ramona J.R. LaFrance and Robert K. Ranzoni, both of Manchester, Conn.; Raymond J. Ranzoni of North Adams; Gina R. Tapp of East Longmeadow; Daniel L. Ranzoni of Bar Harbor, Maine, and Joseph D.E. Ranzoni of Bucksport, Maine; 17 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter, as well as several nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Polmatier, is deceased.
