Frank Fountain

Frank Fountain, 90, of 98 Barbour St. died Thursday at Williamstown Commons, where he had resided since August. Born in Adams on Oct. 27, 1913, son of Charles and Matilda Stevens Fountain, he moved to Clarksburg as a child and attended Clarksburg schools. He was employed by the former Waverly Fabrics Co. in Adams, retiring in 1975. Before that, he worked for a few years at Sprague Electric Co. and was employed by Strong-Hewat Woolen Mill in Clarksburg until the company ceased operations. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife, the former Gertrude Mae Haley Waterhouse, whom he married Nov. 8, 1941, died Aug. 31, 1982. He leaves a stepdaughter, Joan Pisano of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Annie Witto of Clarksburg and Agnes Stalker of Boston; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. His daughter, Kathleen Guyette, died April 8, 1998, and his stepson, William Waterhouse, died Dec. 23, 1994. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Frank Fountain will be Monday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. There will be a funeral service at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eileen Barrett Oncology Unit at North Adams Regional Hospital in care of the funeral home. Survivors also include his caregivers, daughter-in-law Dolores Waterhouse of North Adams, son-in-law Richard Guyette of North Adams and granddaughter Charlene Prince of North Adams. He was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Harold and Frederick Fountain, and an infant who died at birth, and by two sisters, Matilda Beckwith and Nellie Jones.
