Germaine St. Peter Connally

Germaine St. Peter Connally, 87, formerly of Riverview Apartments, died Tuesday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since October 2000. Born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Aug. 17, 1916, daughter of Alexander and Anna Guyer, she graduated from high school there. Mrs. Connally was last employed as private duty caregiver. She had been employed as a laborer by Greylock Plastics for many years, and also had worked as a sales clerk for the former Big N department store in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church. She enjoyed traveling and doing crossword puzzles. In her earlier years, she did volunteer work for the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge. Her first husband, Lucien A. St. Peter, whom she married in 1936, died in 1958. Her husband, Edward Connally, whom she married in 1972, died in 1995. She leaves a son, William St. Peter of Coconut Creek, Fla.; two sisters, Irene Burbank of Leesburg, Fla., and Jeanette Guyer Ellis of Long Branch, N.J.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Germaine G. St. Peter Connally, 87, formerly of Dalton, who died Dec. 9, 2003, will be held Friday at 9:45 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Agnes' Church by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 9 to 9:45, prior to the funeral. Mrs. Connally also leaves her two grandchildren, Deborah McKewon and Christopher St. Peter, and her daughter-in-law, Rosemary St. Peter. She also leaves her friends, Gerry and Paul Hermanski of Dalton. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alberta Dubois and Eglantine Dunn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Agnes Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
