C. Baptiste "Bat" Bernasconi

C. Baptiste "Bat" Bernasconi, 90, of Dublin Hill died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Lenox on July 16, 1913, son of Battista and Maria Menotti Bernasconi, he was a 1932 graduate of the former Lenox High School. Mr. Bernasconi worked at Kimberly Clark Paper Mill for about 45 years, retiring as a laboratory technician in 1980. He also operated a bakery delivery business as a youngster. He was the former executive officer of Local 78 UPIU. Mr. Bernasconi was a semipro baseball player for the former Lenox Merchants. He was an organizer of the Lee Little League and enjoyed coaching and working with Lee youth for many years. He was an active official of the SPINC Athletic Association and a basketball coach for the Catholic Youth Organization. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a former member of Greenock Country Club, where he played golf. A bowler, he won championships in the Lee Lanes and various other Berkshire County leagues. He was a lifelong Yankees fan and an enthusiastic gardener. He and his wife, the former Olga Adamoli, were married June 5, 1937. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Charles B. Bernasconi of Brockton and David F. Bernasconi of Nashua, N.H.; two daughters, Jane D. Bernasconi of Otis and Nancy Z. Sewell of Trumbull, Conn.; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for C. Baptiste "Bat" Bernasconi, who died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, will be Tuesday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations to the Lee Little League Association in care of the funeral home. Survivors include his devoted son-in-law, Ed Sewell; 13 grandchildren, Karen and Nancy Bernasconi, Andrew Bernasconi Esq., Larry and Christine Humason, Doreen Harvey, Michael, Dr. Mark, Dr. Matthew, Martin and Jennifer Sewell and Keith and Bryan Bernasconi; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley and Kimberly Humason, Trent, Max, Jack, Charlie and Harry Sewell, and Bryanna Raine Bernasconi. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Angela Laura Sewell; four brothers, Domenic, Louis, Angelo "Fritz" and Jack Bernasconi, and by a daughter-in-law, Carol Bernasconi.

I know this is very late coming and I so apologize, I'm very sorry for your loss. Explanation is that I have just started a family tree on ancestry.com and I believe that this is my great uncle bat, angelo bernasconi's brother that was my grandfater, who married rose bona.
