Ruth Delia Edmonds

Ruth Delia Edmonds, 80, of 38 Spring St. died yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Dec. 9. Born in Clinton on May 14, 1923, daughter of Alphonse C. and Corrine R. Webb Brouillett, she moved to North Adams at an early age and graduated from Drury High School in 1942. Mrs. Edmonds was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also was a member of its Friendly Circle and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and crafts. Her husband, Melfred Raymond Edmonds, whom she married May 18, 1946, died Nov. 22, 2001. She leaves three sons, Gordon R. Edmonds of Keene, N.H., and twins Craig S. Edmonds of North Adams and Tracy E. Edmonds of South Daytona Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Robin L. Wood of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth D. Edmonds will be Thursday at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, followed by services at 10:30 at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Susan Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Donations to First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Survivors include three daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, Gail Edmonds of Keene, N.H., Mary Edmonds of North Adams, Christine Edmonds of South Daytona Beach, Fla., and Earl Wood of Honeoye Falls, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Sonya Thornton, Jonathan Wood and Sean, Alyssa, Ryan, Sarah and Curtis Edmonds; three great-grandchildren, Brenna, Brendon and Elise; nieces and nephews. A brother, Raymond Brouillett, is deceased.
