Mae June Adams

Mae June Adams, 89, of 727 Old Windsor Road died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on June 3, 1914, daughter of Vernon and Nora Alice Bird Rose, she attended local schools. A homemaker, she had at one time worked at the former Pittsfield Laundry. She was a member of the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene in Dalton and was a member of the Hinsdale Senior Citizens. Her husband, Jairus W. "Jerry" Adams, whom she married June 24, 1933, died Dec. 31, 1968. She leaves two sons, Donald P. Adams of Peru and Burton J. Adams of Dalton, three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mae June Adams, who died Thursday, Dec. 18, leaves her three granddaughters, Lisa Mae Smith and Sherry Mae Betit, both of Peru, and Candice Griffith Adams of Pittsfield, and two great-grandchildren, Tabatha Ciara Smith and Kyle Robert Betit. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 22, at 11 at the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Bryan Lamberton, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Main Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire First Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
