Dorothy J. Siok

Dorothy J. Siok, 91, formerly of 8 Waubeck St., died Monday at Timberlyn Heights, where she had resided for seven years. Born in Housatonic on June 27, 1912, daughter of Alexander and Rozalia Fiorek Yurga, she was educated in local schools. Mrs. Siok had been employed at the former Monument Mills and the former Great Barrington Manufacturing Co. She was a communicant of All Saints' Church, and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Polish National Alliance, and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her husband, Frank Siok, whom she married Nov. 21, 1936 in All Saints' Church, died Aug. 24, 1999. She leaves a daughter, Rosemary Siok of Great Barrington, and three sisters, Bessie Romeo of Lenox, Stephanie Cummings and Alice Sullivan, both of Tauares, Fla. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Dorothy J. Siok, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, will be held Friday, Dec. 26, at 10 at All Saints' Church, with the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday from 9 to 9:30 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Siok's name may be made to the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad or the Housatonic Hose Company in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
