Donald E. Tyler

Donald E. Tyler, 73, of Dewey Court died Friday at Fairview Commons, where he had resided for a few months. Born in Stratford, Conn., on Dec. 1, 1930, son of Douglas and Alice Hopkins Tyler, he attended Housatonic High School until joining the Army. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served in the cavalry. He was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Tyler was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Masonic Lodge in Cornwall, Conn. He enjoyed attending the annual Bluegrass Festival in Ancramdale, N.Y., for 25 years. He was a talented artist and wood carver. He leaves three sons, Earle Tyler of West Cornwall, Conn., Donald Tyler of Waterbury, Conn., and Mitchell Tyler of Sheffield; a daughter, Ashley Tyler of Sheffield; a sister, Ethel Bouton of Kent, Conn., his former wife, Lucille Joy Wickwire of Cornwall, and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Donald E. Tyler of Dewey Court in Sheffield died Jan. 10, 2004. He also is survived by his former wife, Lucille Joy Wickwire of Cornwall, Conn. A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
